FREE HEART
People may say, do this, do that,
They think they have it all so pat;
To live we must all so confirm
And become what they call the norm;
But when it comes to private choice,
The only sound must be the voice,
Coming from every heart to be
The one that is then truly free.

DOGS PRAYER
This is my prayer of obedience,
If you will give me your allegiance;
Please do not beat me or hurt me,
Nor neglect me or abandon me;
Because I have feelings too you know,
As any dog will tell you so;
Conditions do not have to be lush,
Just food, water and a daily brush,
A clean comfy bed to sleep on,
Couple of daily walks, not long;
Please, only an occasional bath,
Or you’ll incur my wrath;
But I’ll give you a grateful paw
If you’ll give me a bone to knaw;
I promise to be good and behave,
And be your adoring slave,
If you’re kind and gentle with me,
I like to be patted and smoothed you see;
If you belong top this kindly band,
I will not bite but lick your hand,
And because I’m not a mouse,
I will protect you and your house;
This is my prayer of allegiance,
In return for lifelong diligence.

COUNTRY SURGEON
The surgeon looked with heavy heart,
At that in which he wished no part,
But at last he had to be brave,
There were some he just could not save;
Progress had brought about the fall
Of this giant, it must appall
All who see what must be begun;
The grisley deed was not yet done;
The surgeon’s blade struck yet once more
Failing to save it felt so poor;
It grieves me to see so much pain,
Others they would rather have slain,
But with the last and heavy slash,
The mighty oak fell with a crash!
